Renting your furnished apartment for short term rental
As this infographic presents, the conditions for renting your furnished apartment for short periods in Paris are regulated.
If the apartment is your main residence, you will be authorized to rent your apartment for a maximum of 120 days a year. You will have to file a declaration on the Paris City Hall website.
This declaration will allow you to obtain a registration number that you will then have to communicate to us.
You wish to rent your second home for short periods?
The rules for renting a property that is not your primary residence are much stricter than for primary residences.
You will first have to obtain a change of use permit and pay compensation.
The compensation rule consists of transforming a commercial space into a dwelling in order to compensate for the loss of living space in the transformed premises. The purpose of this compensation is to preserve the balance between housing available for rent and housing for economic activity.
Secondly, you will have to proceed with the change of use of the premises to hotel accommodation. All the information necessary for the change of use is available on the website of the Paris City Hall (in french).
Finally, you will need to apply for a registration number, as you would for a primary residence.
